Question: Is there a difference between a x-ray technician and a radiographer?
Answer: Yes. An x-ray tech is more limited as it requires less training. Radiographers have a much easier time finding employment and can get more specializations which ultimately increases their salary.
Question: Hi, I heard that you can't get a job unless your degree is accredited, is this true?
Answer: While it's not impossible to gain employment without accreditation, you will be hard-pressed to find that opportunity. You should have no problem finding an accredited "brick-and-mortar" school but you have to be a bit more careful when it comes to online schools. Your best bet is to check to see if the federal government is backing student loans from them. You can also get more information from the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM).
