Most institutions and colleges now offer courses, degrees, programs, and certificates in Radiography. A radiographer can expect to graduate in  24-months or possibly sooner if you have additional time and double up on classes. According to the US Labor Department statistics, employment of radiographers is expected to increase in demand and grow faster than the average for all occupations through 2012 and will rapidly begin expanding after the year 2016 when the health care bill goes into full effect.

While attending school, it is a good idea to try and find an internship for the summer. Your professor can point you in the right direction. An internship will give you some valuable experience and help you become accustomed to the work environment. It also looks really good on a resume that you took the time and the initiative before you even started your career. Most importantly, you will be able to network with people and build up business contacts and relationships. Even in today's world business contacts can mean more than qualifications. A good word from a respected employee can get you in the door.
